Dr Kate Tickle is an experienced leader in analytics and strategy with extensive experience delivering sector-scale insights and benchmarking services across higher education, research, and public sector domains.
Prior to joining CAUDIT, Kate led the Strategy & Analytics portfolio at the Council of Australasian University Librarians (CAUL), where she modernised and grew the CAUL Analytics Service. She led the implementation of a sector-wide enterprise cloud data platform and developed reporting solutions for 47 Member Institutions across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. At CAUL, Kate was also responsible for facilitating the development of the CAUL strategy and delivering on the strategic programs, as well as leading the Professional Learning Service.
Kate is a former academic in the discipline of information studies, with a research and teaching background spanning digital learning, social technologies, and information systems. Her PhD in Information Technology, completed at Queensland University of Technology, explored new mothers’ information experiences in social media environments, reflecting her broader interest in how people engage with information and technology in their work, study, and daily lives.
As the Director, Analytics & Insights at CAUDIT, Kate is excited to lead the organisation’s analytics and benchmarking portfolio, overseeing the development of flagship reports such as the State of ICT Snapshot and Top Ten Trends. She is looking forward to working closely with CAUDIT’s Benchmarking Advisory Committee and Member Institutions to turn data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
Kate is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, on the lands of the Kombumerri people of the Yugambeh language region.
Outside of work, Kate can be found exploring local parks, visiting library story time, and trying to stay one step ahead of her energetic and curious toddler.
