Thanks go to our fabulous speakers, Program Committee, CAUDIT staff, venue and AV staff for a terrific Spring Members Meeting at Victoria University in Melbourne in October. Highlights included:
Rebecca Armstrong (University of Canberra) kicked off the meeting with energy and enthusiasm for the great work UC is doing on their ‘Distinctive Digital Experience. Very inspiring! Panels of students and employers gave us their views on what ‘student success’ means and what employers look for when recruiting from universities.
Michael Kelly, Lou Markstrom and Stephanie Barros gave us much to think about (and practice) with our communication and Colin D Ellis, much in demand speaker and writer, livened up dinner with his thoughts on culture and project management.
Stephen Weller, DVC-Corporate from ACU joined via video on day two and commended CIOs for focusing on student success. We also learnt how TEC New Zealand is using data to better track and enable student journeys and Trevor Woods, CIO, Monash University spoke about how change is being scaled up across the whole organisation through consistency around a small set of fundamentals.
We also launched the CAUDIT/Ovum Partnership (more on this elsewhere) and discussed potential initiatives to help CAUDIT members prepare for the 2020s.
Presentations from the sessions can be downloaded from the CAUDIT website
