Geoscience Australia Joins AeRO
The Australasian eResearch Organisations (AeRO) is very excited to announce that Geoscience Australia (GA) has joined AeRO as a Full Member.
Geoscience Australia is Australia’s pre-eminent public sector geoscience organisation. They are the nation’s trusted advisor on the geology and geography of Australia, and apply science and technology to describe and undestand the Earth for the benefit of Australia.
AeRO membership signifies GA’s strategic involvement at the forefront of Australasian eResearch.
GA’s Chief Information Officer, Antony Stinziani confirmed “Joining AeRO signifies our strong involvement and interest in the strategic direction of eResearch within Australasia. It enables us to coordinate and integrate more closely with the many other eResearch service providers, to develop new services for the research community that use our data, and to build the capabilities of our team”
AeRO CEO Dr Markus Buchhorn is very pleased that GA is joining. “They are a major national provider of data, tools and services to the research community, a global player in the standards world, a key advisor on geospatial practices and applications to government and the wider community, and a really great exemplar of an organising effectively leveraging information technologies to support their users.”
