July Update from EA Community Committee

EA Community in general

2016 is shaping up to be a good year for our CoP.

We are now officially constituted as a CAUDIT CoP. We have over 60 registered core members and an extended socially-connected community of about 130.

We have had great opportunities to work with CAUDIT on some significant initiatives.

Our primary goals for the remainder of 2016 are to facilitate member involvement and to provide some concrete support for active collaboration among its members.

Terms of Reference endorsed by CAUDIT Executive Committee

We are pleased to inform the community that the CAUDIT executive has formally endorsed the EA Community Terms of Reference.

That document formally constitutes our community of practice under the CAUDIT Supporting Communities policy

We would like to thank all of you who reviewed and commented during the drafting process.

The ToR will be reviewed annually, and the next opportunity to propose changes will be in October in the lead up to the annual general meeting of the EA Committee.

The primary benefits of having the Terms of Reference are:

  • They provide a platform that ensures the continuity of the CoP as individual members come and go.
  • They provide the means by which we can initiate, organise and support more formal collaboration within our community.

Farewell to Felicia

Felecia Van Heerden has left her role as the Enterprise Architecture Manager at the Auckland University of Technology. Indeed, Felecia has not only left higher education, but has hung up her EA hat to devote herself to the business she and her husband own.

Felecia has been an active contributor to our community for many years now. She organised and hosted the 2012 Symposium at AUT, served on the organising committee of three more, and was a part of the founding group helping us organise and develop the community.

We would like to thank Felecia for her commitment to enterprise architecture, higher education, collaboration, and this community. We acknowledge the work she did and the contribution she made.

We wish her all success and every happiness in her new adventures.
