IT Governance Community

A Community of Practice focused on IT Governance bringing together IT and eResearch professionals navigating the broad scope of policy, risk, assurance, and governance within the higher education sector. The community aims to serve as a collaborative network to share best practices, respond to emerging legislation, and explore common frameworks and standards across institutions. Examples of focus areas includes (but is not limited to) the development and alignment of policies such as acceptable use, email management (including legacy and associate accounts), and the responsible integration of AI into governance frameworks et.

Regular discussions will cover standing items like current policy development, areas requiring inspiration or shared approaches, and responses to both local and Commonwealth-level issues. Over time, this group could evolve into a valuable repository of governance templates and policies, enriched by insights into how other universities manage their IT governance landscape.
