CAUDIT's Vision is that leaders in Australian universities, Australian Government Department and industry recognise both CAUDIT and its members as an important source of strategic advice on Information Technology in Higher Education. CAUDIT's Mission is to enhance its members' ability and influence as key strategic advisers on Information Technology in Higher Education. It will achieve this through a variety of relevant strategies:- developing and maintaining relationships with key members of the Higher Education sector.
- assisting members to develop professional skills.
- providing mutual support mechanisms to members.
- encouraging development and application of standards, benchmarking, best practice and policies.
- sharing expertise among members and colleagues.
- being a major focus for relationships with the IT industry.
- developing and maintaining strategic relationships with other organisations including government agencies.

CAUDIT's Three Year Strategic Goals:- Facilitate the widespread adoption of best practices in Information Technology through the promotion of standards and use of benchmarking.
- Facilitate the continuous professional development of CAUDIT members.
- Continue to improve the CAUDIT-EDUCAUSE Institute program.
- Continuously review how CAUDIT supports its members and implement necessary changes.
- Foster intra-sector cooperation in the solution of Information Technology challenges.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the AVCC, CAUL, ACODE, Government Departments, industry and other appropriate organisations, and provide advice to these organisations.
