EDUCAUSE Australasia 2009
Thank you
Perth, Western Australia was the host for EDUCAUSE Australasia Conference from 3 - 6 May 2009. This was the premier event for professionals working in higher education who manage technologies to advance scholarship, learning and teaching. With the theme Innovate, Collaborate & Sustain, this conference explored the challenges in areas such as how to innovate in the knowledge economy, collaboration with virtual teams and the ever present green agenda and action.
EDUCAUSE is a non-profit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology. Without doubt, EDUCAUSE Australasia is the premier event for key decision makers managing knowledge technologies in tertiary education. EDUCAUSE Australasia is the only event sanctioned by the parent body to be held outside the United States, with the last in Melbourne in 2007. E DUCAUSE Australasia is unique in that it attracts a comprehensive range of senior decision makers across the whole spectrum of Information Technology, Teaching and Learning, Library and Knowledge Management. Over 450 key decision makers from the higher education section throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region attended the conference.
This is first time the event has come to Perth, Western Australia. The conference was held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre which is a state of the art facility which boasts a 2,500 seat theatre, 6 exhibitions pavilions, 23 meeting rooms, 2 ballrooms and is within walking distance to hotels, restaurants and the heart of Perth city.
