Biography: Susan Gibbons is associate dean for Public Services & Collection Development at the University of Rochester, River Campus Libraries and a Visiting Programme Office for the Association for Research Libraries. Ms. Gibbons has earned a Masters in library science, history and business administration, and is currently working on a doctorate in higher education administration. She has published and presented on various information technology topics, including institutional repositories and course management systems. Most recently, her focus is on understanding the work practices of faculty and students to better align the academic library to their needs. Her research has been cited in many publications, including the New York Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, and Publishers Weekly. In 2005 she was named one of Library Journal’s “Movers & Shakers.” |
