Joan Getman |  | Joan Getman is Senior Strategist for Learning Technologies at Cornell University. Her goal is alignment of services with best practices, and current and emerging technologies. She does strategic planning for pilots, communicates evaluation findings and project outcomes, makes recommendations for improving and adding faculty services, cultivates partnerships across CIT and campus that leverage activities with similar goals and diverse sponsors, and facilitates faculty discussion of innovations in teaching with technology. Joan has a B.A. in Film and Psychology and an M.S. in Communication and Instructional Design. | Avril Grant |  | Avril Grant is the Manager for Client Quality Services in Information Technology Services (ITS) at Queensland University of Technology. She is accountable for quality of service, quality of communication, quality of information within ITS. Specifically this means that Avril is responsible for the Service Portfolio Office, IT training, strategic client liaison, IT Service Management, the QUT web presence, and the IT Leadership Development Program. Avril holds a Bachelor of Science - Computing and has over 25 years experience in the IT industry in both private industry and the university sector, within Australia and oversees. Her various roles range from programming and analysis, training, support and liaison through to management and leadership. Areas of interest also include Knowledge Management, Change Management, IT Service Management and the challenges faced by knowledge workers in an IT environment. | Cathrine Harboe-Ree |  | Cathrine Harboe-Ree is the Monash University Librarian. Her interests include the transformation of library buildings and services to meet 21st century needs and digital library initiatives. Over the past few years she has overseen closer integration of library and information technology services to students. She has established an electronic press for her university and is the project leader of the Commonwealth Government funded project, ARROW (Australian Research repositories Online to the World), which is developing institutional repository solutions for the management of digital assets. Cathrine is a member of Monash University's eResearch Steering Committee and has recently led the creation of a data management policy. She is a member of the CAUL (Council of Australian University Librarians) Executive and the Editorial Board of Australian Academic & Research Libraries. She has a commitment to professional development and has been a mentor and leader in various programs. | Margo Hellyer |  | Margo Hellyer is the Director of Client Services in the Information Technology Services Division at Monash University. Her responsibilities cover IT support for staff and students, training, marketing and communications, and the University's lecture theatres and telephone switchboards. After initially studying agriculture, Margo has moved into IT and management with positions in the Victorian public sector and Deakin University before joining Monash in 1999. Her professional interests cover customer relationship management, strategic and operational planning, service improvement, change management and staff development. | Willie Pritchard |  | Willie Pritchard is Academic Coordinator of Distance Learning and a member of the faculty of the Business and Computer Information Systems Division at De Anza College in Cupertino, California. He has over 25 years of technology management experience, serving most recently as the first Vice Chancellor and CIO of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, located in the Silicon Valley area of California. He has held lead IT management positions at Houston Community College (Texas), St. Petersburg Junior College (Florida), the University of South Florida, and Vassar College (New York). Active in EDUCAUSE, Willie served on its Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the association, as well as a four-year tenure on the faculty of its Management Institute. He is a strong advocate for the appropriate application of technology in teaching and learning and was a founding member of the EDUCAUSE Advisory Committee on Teaching and Learning, as well as Chair of the Board of Directors for the New Media Centers consortium in the late 1990s. He has served on higher ed advisory boards for Apple, Compaq, Microsoft, Pearson Publishing and A.D.A.M. Software. Willie earned his bachelor's degree from Duke University, his masters at Antioch University, and did his doctoral work at the University of Florida. | Nick Tate | | Nick is Director of Information Technology Services at The University of Queensland (UQ) and the Director of Australiaļa's National Computer Emergency Response Team, AusCERT, which is based at UQ. He is also a Director of both Higher Ed Systems Pty Ltd, and AARNet Pty Ltd, Chair of the Queensland Regional Network Organisation (QRNO), Chairman of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) in Queensland and is director of the project to establish the Australian Access Federation (AAF). Prior to UQ, Nick worked on the development of anti-missile missile systems for Royal Navy Warships, before spending twenty years working for investment banks, eighteen years in London and then two years with Macquarie Bank in Sydney. He was Head of IT for the United Bank of Kuwait in London during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in the first Gulf war when there was a run on the bank and many strange requests from Baghdad! Nick holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and a Master's degree in Computer Science and is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a Fellow of the ACS. He has 34 years IT experience with over 14 years at CIO level. Nick has also been a pilot in the Royal Air force Volunteer Reserve, a City Councillor and Chairman of a London based economic think tank. | Stephen Whiteside |  | Stephen Whiteside is the Director of IT for the University of Auckland. He is responsible for strategic planning and campus IT leadership, and manages a team of 150 staff. Stephen holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, and is a Chartered Accountant. In 2005 he chaired the organising committee for EDUCAUSE Australasia, which was held in Auckland. Prior to joining the University, Stephen was the CIO for Canterbury District Health Board, and a consultant for Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC). At PWC Stephen consulted on IT strategy, delivery and computer security. Stephen has a strong interest in leadership, and is an alumnus of the Australian Graduate School of Management General Manager Program. |
